Students will receive handouts of most course materials. NOTE: You will need to keep and use some of the co-op materials throughout your education at Northeastern. Do not throw these materials away!

• Three weeks of CS U221 will consist of a short course on UNIX. This is a useful reference.

Friedman, T. L. (2005). The World is Flat. Penguin Books. (Paperback edition)

• This book explores the effect of globalization on the US high tech industry, including topics like outsourcing. It will help you understand the future of the CS/IS field.
