Instructions for this project

	Mitchell Wand I'm the instructor in this class. I got my Ph.D. from MIT in 1973, and I've been at Northeastern since 1985. When I'm not thinking about programming languages, this class, or other CS-related things, I play jazz piano and dote on my three grandchildren.
	Nick Blumm This is my third year as a PhD student in Laszlo Barabasi's group. My interests include Network Theory, Information Theory and Machine Learning. I have worked on human mobility patterns, disease prediction and data visualization. I have also led hiking trips in the Canadian Rockies, taught English in Tokyo, studied mime in Paris, and worked in a Russian clown show.
	Jed Davis is a 2.5th-year student working with Peter Desnoyers and Will Clinger on a new(?) approach to persistent memory; and, like the fox, knows many things.
	Jonathan Hoag I've spent the majority of my life in Manhattan... Kansas. I love language design problems and designing DSLs even though I am constantly told that it is more trouble than its worth.
	Ian Johnson I study formal verification, play piano, and I like math, movies, anime, video games (esp. RPGs) and reading biographies of great mathematicians/physicists/computer scientists. And mountain dew.
	Dimitrios Kanoulas I'm from Thessaloniki, Greece. I'm a second-year theory graduate student, advised by Prof. Rajmohan Rajaraman. I did my undergraduate studies in the school of Computer Engineering and Informatics at University of Patras in Greece and I'm interested in Algorithmic Game Theory, Approximation Algorithms and Combinatorial and Linear Optimization. When I have the chance, I like reading, writing and drinking (Not in this particular order).
	Eric Miles I'm a second-year PhD student, interested in theory. Things I'm into include cycling, big cities, and live music.
	Vasilis Papavasileiou I am Vasilis Papavasileiou. I come from Greece. My academic interests lie in the fields of formal verification and programming languages. I am working with Pete Manolios.
	Shahzad Rajput I am a Fulbright scholar doing research in Information Retrieval/Machine Learning area. My advisor is Prof. Javed Aslam. I am currently working on diversifying the ranked list returned by a search engine.
	Vincent St-Amour I'm a first-year PhD student in the programming languages lab. I am mostly interested in functional programming languages and their implementation. I did my undergraduate studies at the Université de Montréal, in Quebec.
	Paul Stansifer After I graduated from Williams College , I spent two years working at a software company in Cambridge called Endeca, on a large system written in C++. The experience gave me a new respect for the important of programming language design. I also own an offensively bad plaid suit.
	Karl Wiegand I'm from Seattle and my research area is NLP/AI; I did my undergraduate work at the University of Washington and my master's at Seattle University.
