Guidelines for Presentations and Discussions
Presentations
Presentations should take one topic from the text, typically a page or
a paragraph, and explore it in depth. Your presentation should show
understanding of the topic and some of its subtleties. It should
involve some outside reading that goes beyond the level explored in
the book.
Presentations will be graded using the following rubric:
- 5-- Excellent presentation; shows evidence of research and insight
- 4-- OK presentation; competent presentation of topic (most people will get a 4)
- 3-- Below-average presentation; deficient in depth, organization,
clarity, or English
- 2-- Deficient in more than one of the above
